The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Founded in 1991, HKUST is an international research university dedicated to the advancement of science, engineering, business & management, and humanities & social science; education of the next generation of front runners, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and producing societal impact. 

The University comprises 4 Schools and an Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies and multiple research institutes / central research facilities with around 700 faculty members, and an enrolment of about 10,000 undergraduate and 7,000 postgraduate students.  English is the language used in teaching, research and administration.

Within a short history of 31 years, HKUST has already established a strong presence in global higher education and received a number of international recognitions. Among others, it has been ranked the world’s No.2 in the latest Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, No.1 in Hong Kong and No.3 in Greater China in the Global Employability University Ranking in 2022, and the 7th in Asia’s 500+ Universities in Times Higher Education  Rankings.
