Overview
Seloxium Limited is a dynamic and diverse spin out company from the University of Oxford that is revolutionising clean growth and the circular economy within the mining and refining sectors. The company develops a multi patented 'selective flocculation' technology that selectively recovers high value metals from in process or effluent water streams, providing greener and more sustainable solutions for metallic resource recovery and reuse. Seloxium operates from an R&D laboratory and back office in Oxford and a pilot processing plant in the North East of England.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pilot plant equipment and supporting facilities to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Collaborate closely with plant operators, chemical engineers, and chemists to support process development and scale up activities.
- Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and optimise plant performance.
- Manage plant utility systems-including electrical, water, gas, and air supply-ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support the commissioning of new equipment and pilot scale systems, including documentation and staff training.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant safety, reliability, and sustainability.
- Contribute to compliance goals with all relevant regulatory and safety requirements, maintaining meticulous records and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with an emphasis on industrial facilities management.
- Proven experience in pilot plant or process plant operations, including equipment commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- A strong understanding of plant engineering systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Knowledge related to hydrometallurgy based treatment, mining, or refining process technologies.
- Experience in a fast paced start up or SME environment.
- Familiarity with process automation and instrumentation.
