Engineering Technician (numerous vacancies)

Job Description

Overview

GSK's Ware Site in Hertfordshire, UK is a key manufacturing centre for medicines and supplies globally. We are looking for qualified Engineering Technicians to support production and site operations.

Responsibilities

Engineering Technicians work in a team and perform a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Perform planned, preventive and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance on production and utilities equipment
  • Calibrate critical process and utility equipment
  • Fault finding, interrogation of control systems, problem solving and breakdown resolution across a variety of equipment
  • Routine testing of HVAC systems including air quality
  • Continuous improvement of production and utilities equipment and processes to support safety, quality and reliability
  • Complete statutory inspections and safe systems of work (ATEX, PUWER, zero access, LOTO, permit to work, high voltage substation checks)
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Quality, Validation, Production, Logistics, Technical)
  • Involve with project work such as commissioning and installing new equipment
  • Use site systems and engineering data for diagnostics, compliance and equipment improvement
  • Work with contractors, vendors and service engineers to support safe and compliant completion of specialist work
Shift Pattern
  • 24/5 - 12 hour shifts Monday to Friday (including night shifts)
  • 24/7 - 12 hour shifts throughout the week (including night shifts and weekend work)
  • Double Days 16/5 - 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday (rotating early and late shifts)

Shift patterns can be discussed prior to and during the interview stage, and preferences will be considered.

Qualifications
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and/or experience (e.g. HND/HNC, Engineering Apprenticeship)
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • Willing learner, good communicator, takes personal accountability and action, works within a team and follows standard processes
  • Ability to work within a disciplined and regulated environment
