Wood is seeking a Lead Process Engineer – Operational Readiness to be involved in a unique and technically challenging gold project in its Brisbane Minerals & Metals team. This position is based in Brisbane, Queensland on a 6-month contract with possibility for extension.

Based on a current project opportunity within our Mining & Minerals business, we are seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer with strong gold project experience to join our Process team. Responsibilities

Reporting to the divisional Process Engineering Manager, based on current work load we are looking for someone to join us on this growth journey guiding best practice in this sector of process engineering. 

 As a Lead Process Engineer – Operational Readiness, you will:

  • Lead the Process engineering effort with Operational Readiness requirements
  • Deliver best practice Operational Readiness plans in accordance with project, time, budget and technical requirements
  • Contribute to the development of systems, standard operating procedures, checklists and start-up plans
  • Assist with development of organisational structures, resource plans, schedules and training requirements
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to implement Operational Readiness requirements
  • Actively participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and other safety reviews and initiatives

Qualifications

We are looking for a Lead Process Engineer with relevant gold minerals processing experience, specifically with operational readiness. As an engineer with qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or another related field from a recognised institution, you will have:

  • Relevant experience in minerals processing plant design including comminution, gravity, leaching, dewatering, reagents and utilities. Experience with gold processing Operations is essential
  • Previous experience in an Operational Readiness role would be highly regarded
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
