Aim:

Responsible to the MoE of the process discipline and to the PEM of the project for the tasks committed to the services in execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Process discipline from a technical and personnel perspective. 
  • You must coordinate the plans, technical contractual agreements, discipline progress processes, activities and project milestones, in accordance with the policies, procedures, systems and requirements established and approved by Worley. 
  • Supervises assigned personnel in process discipline related to their performance, growth, inductions, training, vacation registration and control, contract renewals, as well as requisitions for new personnel according to needs. 
  • Estimates the effort required by their team (by profile) to accomplish the project scope, monitors assigned working hours, and manages them.
  • Participates in technical/commercial proposals, understanding the scope and being able to estimate the effort required to fulfill the development of a specific service requested by the client.
  • Develops Value Engineering according to the criteria of the Engineering Manager and Project Manager, depending on the scope of the project and the client's needs.
  • Responsible for the quality of deliverables in the processes discipline, compliance with scopes, and ensuring a sustainable design.
  • Extensive knowledge of the theories, techniques and advanced practices of metallurgical and chemical processes.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices relevant to the control, development, and application of process discipline deliverables. 
  • Supervise discipline in a large project or one or more medium or small projects.
  • Knowledge of process software
  • He has experience in different stages of engineering studies (Profile, Conceptual, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Detail, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Operation).
  • It proposes and meets efficient and realistic deadlines for the production of studies.
  • Regarding the Scope of Work (SoW), the responsible party is responsible for aligning the design criteria, operating philosophy, budget, and schedule with the deliverables to be presented, ensuring the correct (but not exhaustive) generation of P&IDs, PFDs, Process Control Strategies, Commissioning and Operation Plans, and the rest of the documentation agreed upon with the client.
  • Coordination with other disciplines, clients, vendors and contractors in a professional and collaborative manner, seeking the success of the project.
  • Responsible for compliance with the Worley Quality Assurance System guidelines and the HSE System in the assigned engineering production.
  • It ensures that the team in the process discipline complies with the schedule, deliverables, and deadlines established for the development of the projects.

     
Job requirements:
  • Specific Knowledge: 
    • Process Engineering, in mineral processing, with a focus on base metals. 
    • Experience in processing other types of metals is valued. 

       

    • Experience and knowledge in the different stages of engineering studies (Pre-feasibility, Feasibility and Details). 
       
  • Specific Experience: 
    • Minimum 18 years of relevant professional experience, and at least 5 years performing in a similar role. 
    • He has a strong background in metallurgical and chemical processes and in-depth knowledge of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and standard practices in underground mining projects. He is an expert in project cost estimation and proposal writing. He has training in risk management and quality.
  • Required experience:
    • Leadership in process discipline and teamwork in multidisciplinary engineering projects. 
    • Experience in interdisciplinary mining projects. 
    • Experience in copper, gold, silver, lead, zinc, iron and lithium ore projects.
    • Focus on design safety.
    • Experience in preparing mine capex and opex estimates.
    • Experience in preparing technical reports: design criteria, operating philosophy, diagramming and general schemes, sizing of mining equipment, technical reports, investment and operating cost estimates.
  • Academic Background, Accreditations, Training: 

    • A degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry is required, with active registration in the College of Engineers of Peru (#CIP). A Master's degree in Project Management or a related field is desirable. 
    • Training in leadership and project execution. Will be authorized by a local engineering regulatory body where required by law. Licensed.
