Job Objective: To be responsible for the execution and assignment of intermediate to complex engineering projects, leveraging their skills, intermediate knowledge, specialization, and experience in one or more engineering areas and their specific discipline, as well as other types of products and systems. Their work is subject to established practices and procedures and may require periodic review. Depending on the requirements, they may lead small groups on projects or work teams.

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Be able to provide recommendations that include complete solutions within the scope of the engineering, drafting, or modeling work. Unusual and highly complex decisions are typically referred to more senior discipline members.

 

  • Working autonomously allows for the planning and organization of tasks in assigned projects, both your own and those of your team members, if you are leading one.

 

  • Performing their duties based on weekly to monthly self-initiated technical interaction and guidance with the supervisor, their work is generally not supervised in detail and the amount of supervision varies depending on the assignment.

 

  • Receive, manage, and execute engineering project assignments with specific objectives and priorities, considering critical areas that may affect the work of other units. Technical guidance is generally available to review work schedules and advise on unusual aspects of assignments.

 

  • Work in teams of up to 4 people who report directly to you, either participating or leading, and which may be made up of engineers and designers from the same discipline, but you do not have authority for performance evaluations that affect the salary of other professionals.

 

  • Maintain constant and effective communication with the work team, to inform and persuade on complex issues and problems through the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations and reports, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management of the discipline.

 

  • Work competently and efficiently using specialized design tools, analysis and modeling, and interdisciplinary data-centric methods.

 

  • Build appropriate, constructive, and effective relationships throughout the organization; use diplomacy and tact, be approachable, and communicate clearly, accurately, and consistently both verbally and in writing. Employ the principles of active listening and encourage feedback from and to others.

 

  • Work in a team with visibility to stakeholders at high levels, be able to work and link with multiple teams and stakeholders, be able to prioritize workloads and help other team members achieve their goals.

 

  • Achieve the results set by oneself and others, meeting the established deadlines.

  • Divide and prioritize the work into executable tasks.

 

  • Take responsibility for the work produced and ensure that it is "right the first time".

  • Examine problems carefully and thoroughly and understand their interdependencies in order to propose solutions

 

What will you bring?

 

Software, processes and tools:

 

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience in similar roles, with a thorough understanding of regulations, codes, design and  manufacturing standards, and industry best practices. Intermediate knowledge of project cost estimation and proposal writing is also required.   

  • Experience in carrying out conceptual, basic and detailed engineering for industry projects (Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, among others).

  • Experience in developing deliverables for oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, and water treatment projects. Proficiency in handling deliverables such as B&CDs, H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, calculation reports and memoranda, operating philosophies, process descriptions, line lists, and tie-in lists.

  • Experience in the sizing and classification of relief devices according to API standards.

  • Have experience using ASME, API, NFPA, STD and RP.

  • Tener manejo de softwares como Pipephase, AFT, SPS, Pipesim or OLGA, HYSYS, UNISIM and PRO II.

  • It is essential to have a conversational English level of B2 or C1.
