Facet Amtech is a deep-technology company developing a breakthrough platform for the production of clean ammonia directly from air and water. Our process feeds air and water into a single reactor, where a proprietary catalyst simultaneously separates hydrogen from water and reduces nitrogen from the air, combining the two directly into ammonia. This eliminates the major plant infrastructure required to produce hydrogen feedstock in conventional grey, blue and green ammonia systems, while also improving energy efficiency by avoiding the waste heat those processes generate. The result is a pathway to ammonia production costs well below today's grey ammonia prices.
We operate at the intersection of scientific discovery, engineering innovation and commercialisation. Our vision is to fundamentally transform ammonia production through a scalable, low-emissions alternative to conventional manufacturing — combining advances in catalysis, materials science, reaction engineering and process development to deliver meaningful economic and environmental impact across one of the world's most important industrial sectors.
Facet Amtech is based in Newcastle, NSW — one of Australia's fastest-growing energy transition hubs, with a strong industrial and research heritage, a coastal lifestyle, and easy access to the Hunter Valley. We recently moved into an independent facility to accelerate our laboratory-based R&D, catalyst manufacturing scale-up and pilot work as we take our technology from breakthrough science toward global-scale impact.
