JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood Mexico is looking for a "Senior Process Engineer/Specialist" (Chemical Engineer or similar) for its Monterrey headquarters. They must have a degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience in the design, calculation, preparation and/or monitoring of technical documents related to the Oil & Gas industry, and preferably experience in handling solids in the cement industry (not essential). Work location: Wood offices in Monterrey, NL, with the possibility of working remotely with approval from the leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position requires design, calculation, preparation and issuance of documents for medium and high complexity systems related to the Process discipline. Likewise, all interrelations between the design of the entire discipline or its specific area and the other disciplines must be monitored, while at the same time directing the interfaces within the project. Likewise, problems of diverse technical complexity must be solved to meet the objectives in time, scope and quality that the project demands, as well as providing technical assistance to the client, in the requirements that it may have.
The required skills will be oriented towards the execution of the following activities:
- Prepare material balances, calculation reports, data sheets and any other technical documents for Oil & Gas processes and possibly some that handle solids
- Demonstrate knowledge of the technical terms commonly used in the Oil & Gas environment, as well as the unit operations carried out in this type of process.
- Carry out reviews and updates of the generated documentation, in accordance with the requirements of the Discipline Leader
- Participate in the preparation and general analysis of the alternatives and technical solutions proposed during the development of the project
- Ensure that the design complies with related standards, codes and specifications
- Resolve technical problems that arise during the execution of the project
- Review documents and drawings issued by other disciplines or equipment manufacturers, in order to identify interfaces and possible interferences.
- Maintain adequate communication and information flow with the rest of the disciplines
- Under minimal supervision, provide the necessary information for the feeding of other disciplines
- Supervise the lower-ranking personnel assigned to the project, resolving any eventualities that may arise and proposing the necessary improvements for the correct development and execution of the project.
In particular, experience in the following activities is required:
- Develop hydraulic analyses of medium/high complexity using commonly used process simulators
- Sizing of process equipment such as two-phase or three-phase separators, KO drums, storage tanks, heat exchangers and similar, as well as the selection of dynamic equipment such as pumps and/or compressors
- Prepare the detailed calculation of the relief devices as well as the design and quantification of the venting systems (branches, collectors, tanks and burners), using specialized software for this type of systems.
- Experience in processes related to the LNG chain (unloading, storage, liquefaction, regasification, etc.) is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Process Engineer, minimum 7 to 10 years of proven experience in the design, calculation, preparation and/or monitoring of documents related to Oil & Gas processes and optionally, the cement industry (solids handling)
- Mastery of national and international standards and codes and local regulations, applicable to the Process discipline
- Mastery of the English language at a conversational level
