Over J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain

The Maintenance & Reliability group in Beerse is the driving force behind the optimal functioning of our machinery. By continuously working on improvements in quality, safety and service, we ensure that the production processes run smoothly.

There is a need for reinforcement as we are renewing and expanding our production facilities, which mainly consist of inspection machines, assembly, printing and packaging machines to package our full range of products for the entire world. This is the final step to be able to deliver these vital medicines directly to our patients.

 

Maintenance & Reliability Engineer

This is a challenging job and a unique opportunity to use your technical expertise, analytical skills and people skills in a pharmaceutical environment where your contribution really makes a difference.

Purpose and Responsibilities

As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer you play a key role in optimizing and operating our machines reliably. Your tasks include:

  • Data analysis to improve the efficiency of production processes
  • Suggest technical improvements for the machine park
  • Project management to realize your improvements in the short and long term
  • Develop maintenance strategies around themes such as preventive maintenance, spare parts management, calibration, long-term replacement plans, risk analysis, etc. and manage these processes
  • Follow up and resolve major machine failures together with an interdisciplinary team of technicians, production employees and quality managers
  • You help ensure proper handling of quality issues together with our quality managers. In the spirit of continuous improvement, you also help to find the root cause of these issues to determine the right actions or to make the right risk assessment.
  • If certain changes to the machines could have a quality impact, you identify the necessary qualification activities and monitor the implementation within the interdisciplinary team
  • Key metrics for your work include OEE, Mean time to repair and Mean time between failure. You will also need to use data from various systems to determine production standards.

 

Qualifications

What are you bringing?

Your background:

  • Master in electromechanics, engineering studies or equivalent through experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in a regulated or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Root Cause Analysis Methodologies
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations, Change control, qualification and the like
  • Knowledge of control techniques, pneumatics, PLC diagnostics, mechanics or technical diagrams is a plus

  • Responsible, accurate and quality-oriented
  • Convincing people to achieve your goals together
  • Flexible and a real team player
  • Good communication skills, native Dutch language proficiency and good knowledge of English
