We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

This position is part of the Manufacturing team supporting the Laird Performance Materials business within DuPont Electronics & Industrial (E&I) Electronics segment.

The Manufacturing team is accountable for the process technology needed to support the end-to-end manufacture of products at the plant sites. The Manufacturing team works across functions (MT, integrated operations & quality, EH&S, R&D, TS&D, commercial, marketing, and supply chain) to deliver results on projects in alignment with the site and business needs.

The Manufacturing Engineer role has primary responsibilities supporting and improving existing manufacturing operations as well as playing a key role in bringing changes and new products to the site.

This is an Onsite opportunity with limited travel (<10%) is expected depending on project responsibilities (travel to other DuPont sites or external parties such as suppliers, manufacturers, training)

 Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain appropriate documentation, including process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that also align with ISO 9001 requirements
  • Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies. Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Design and implement processes, fixtures and tooling for equipment, and documentation for all new projects
  • Partner with the experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline. Assist Design Engineering with prototyping of new or modified products and/or lead root cause analysis of asset utilization losses in the facility.
  • Team member on new product commercialization framework (NPCF) projects representing manufacturing during early phases (prototyping) thru development and product validation; plays a lead role in defining and implement manufacturing process(es) to achieve project goals working closely across functions. Ensures a safe and efficient process is handed over to the operations team.
  • Lead and/or be a technical reviewer for manufacturing process changes; expertise with management of change (MOC) work process. Engineering technical resource for trial and scaleup work to achieve project goals.
  • Lead technology plans and basic data development for capital projects; may lead small capital projects or work closely with other engineers to implement. Lead startup efforts for capital projects, following DuPont project process and best practices.
  • This position reports to the Site Leader and receives local oversight, training, and guidance from Site Leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering background
  • 3-5 years of experience in process engineering or a related field
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Driven to move projects and initiatives forward.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with an ability to work independently and closely with cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of process control and statistical process control techniques
  • Experience with metal forming processes.
  • Six Sigma green belt (or higher) or Lean certified a plus but not a must
  • Experience with new product commercialization including scale up.
  • Experience in Process Safety and process hazard analysis.
