Job Description
OB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently seeking a Lead Process Engineer specialized in water treatment to support critical projects in the downstream oil & gas and chemical industries. The candidate will focus on:
- Wastewater treatment from refinery and chemical process operations.
- Raw water treatment to support refinery and chemical facility requirements.
- Raw water treatment for meeting specifications in green hydrogen electrolyser applications.
The role will be based in our Houston, TX office. Candidates must be local, as there is no relocation assistance or per diem offered.
Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage complex water treatment projects with minimal guidance.
- Perform all process engineering tasks including:
- Feasibility and optimization studies.
- Process simulations and developing heat and material balances.
- Sizing of process equipment and generating process data for instrument and mechanical data sheets.
- Hydraulic piping line sizing, and preparing associated philosophies and reports.
- Conduct relief calculations and familiar with flare network modeling.
- Collaborate with project management for reporting, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Oversee and check engineering calculations and designs to meet industry codes and standards.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, assigning tasks and reviewing work quality.
- Ensure consistent technical content and high-quality design deliverables across the process team and other engineering disciplines.
- Engage in green energy projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 15 years of process engineering experience, specifically in the downstream oil & gas and chemical sectors.
- Expertise in raw and wastewater treatment processes.
- Experience in hydrogen production or water treatment for hydrogen electrolysers is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Occasional field visits, climbing stairs, ladders and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- NCEES Professional Engineering License preferred
