Position

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Senior Regional Engagement Manager to lead our dynamic UK field force, offering clear and supportive management to ensure high performance, and supporting our growth efforts in existing and new global markets.


As an integral part of IChemE’s management team, the role holder will represent the organisation’s key field force, supporting and driving operations through frequent liaison with other IChemE management, functional teams, member groups and committees. They will be a key contributor to achieving IChemE’s strategic goals


Alongside team leadership responsibilities, the role holder will develop and deliver their own regional strategy, working with regional HEIs, employers, and other priority partners to identify, nurture and grow sustainable relationships and engagement opportunities that positively impact IChemE’s member recruitment, engagement, and retention.


This is a field based role and as such extensive business travel will be involved, including a requirement to frequently attend the IChemE offices in Rugby and / or London.


This role is for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance, with potential to extend to a permanent role subject to achievement of key deliverables.

Requirements

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • A minimum of Degree level education
  • At least 5 years work experience or proven practical and diverse work experience in a related field
  • Be highly proficient and confident in people and change management

They will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:

  • Experience and sound working knowledge of chemical, biochemical, process engineering and / or related sectors
  • Experience developing and driving business plans to support execution of strategic plans
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a member engagement, business development, or sales-related role
  • Proven experience forming partnerships and networks at the highest level with other organisations which bring mutual benefit
  • Proven experience in leading a key account management framework

·Line management experience and ability to lead and motivate a team of individuals.

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering and reporting against ambitious targets, KPI’s, budgets and deadlines
  • High level of IT literacy including common Microsoft Office applications, on-line conferencing, web-meetings, and bespoke membership/customer databases

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Employer engagement: through world class key account management, identify and develop links with a growing number and breadth of employer partners to grow our member base and increase engagement – going beyond the norm into new markets.
  2. Regional member development: key accountability for member growth at all grades in UK regions and beyond.
  3. Education partners: through world class key account management, identify and develop links with a growing number of education partners to broaden and grow our member base and increase engagement.
  4. Leadership and management: alongside leadership of IChemE’s dynamic UK field force you will: work with others internationally to lead implementation of growth efforts in new global markets; play an active role in company / departmental development projects and continued improvement initiatives; support our expansion into industry body and public sector partnerships to share best practise and increase market knowledge; and regularly report on progress towards KPIs and business plans.

IChemE is an international membership organisation and activities often take place outside of normal working hours. The job holder must be willing to attend and participate in such activities and associated travel. Additionally, the job holder will be required to liaise with colleagues located in different time zones on an regular basis to meet the needs of the business.

This is a permanent, full-time role based on 37.5 hours per week, generally Monday – Friday, but flexibility will be required to meet business needs.


Salary will be in the region of £47,000-£55,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits which includes an excellent pension scheme.
