Summary:  Translate internal and/or external customers quality expectations into factors that can be measured and integrate quality initiatives into projects throughout the life cycle of the product. Assure the Quality of processes and products by consistently promoting continuous improvement in all areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete all quality related requirements of new product phase according to APQP requirements .
  • Develop working relationships with assigned customers and team members.
  • Facilitate and participate in the root cause and corrective action process (RCA&8D), the First Article process, Part Certification process, and the Business System Auditing process.
  • Monitor the manufacturing processes and improves the process and material controls necessary to maintain consistent product performance.
  • Assist Departments with Quality System and Product Quality related issues and coordinate the Quality effort. Work with R&D Scientists, Process Engineers and Production Engineers to accomplish quality objectives. 
  • Analyze and provide recommendations of failure analysis of components returned by the customer as required.
  • Lead quality troubleshooting using root cause investigation techniques and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. 
  • Establish and maintain quality data like PPM, D/P-FMEA, RCA,8D, PPAP, SPC, MSA and others .
  • Coordinate the PPAP process (including developing, reviewing and approving FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, etc. as appropriate) working with all parties involved (e.g., engineering, suppliers/manufacturing partners, operations…) to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review intermediate & product control charts as process control  process.  Investigate trends in product data, determine root cause, & implement corrective or improvement actions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality and performance complaints.
  • Respond to customer requests regarding specification improvements and information on product manufacturing process (control plans, process flow, quality systems, etc).
  • Develop, revise, and maintain quality documentation as necessary.
  • Facilitate and participate in the Continuous Improvement efforts utilizing Quality Tools.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills(verbal and written)..
  • Demonstrated understanding of new product development processes and work flow.
  • Good knowledge of a particular technical area within the job responsibility.
  • Able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and effectively multi-task multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules.
  • Knowledge and experience with IATF16949 and VDA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least for tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: quality engineering, formulation development, analytical science, statistics, process engineering. 
  • Experience working with customers  to resolve challenging technical problems under tight deadlines. 
  • Experience using formal problem-solving techniques (RCA, FMEA, fishbone, 5 why, etc.) is desired.
  • Experience with statistical software, such as JMP, MINITAB. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with strong attention to detail.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in a technical discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a technical nature.
  • Experience using statistical techniques .
  • Required fluent English communication skills.
