Department
The Technical Department is the center of expertise for Engineering at the Bergen op Zoom site of SABIC. It delivers expert knowledge to all facilities with a focus on the chemical and compounding plants. The organization of the Technical Department consists of multiple subgroups: Process Engineering, Asset Engineering, Process Control, Inspection & Compliance, Process Safety Management, Project Development & Control and Energy & Sustainability. The Asset Engineering team is responsible for the site`s asset reliability and availability performance, servicing our Chemical and Compounding Operation units. Activities are technical and methodological by nature and interface with other departments on site such as Operations, Maintenance as well as Project Management and Project Execution
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Be a role model in EHSS behavior and mindset. Lead by example through visible leadership and meaningful conversations
Drive EHSS improvement within the team and the organization
Managing the entire Asset Engineering department in which you will leading a team of approximately 15 professional engineers.
Create and deliver a well-accepted asset replacement strategy for the site and improve the site`s technical reliability in a cost effective way.
As spokesperson of Asset Engineering for our production units, you are a member of the PMT team. Key here is translating technical support requests into clear assignments for Technical department
Technical lead for initiation and implementation of improvement and replacement projects in alignment with strategic unit business goals.
Chair(person) of the Value Driver “Reliability&Maintenance” and key contributor to this part of the operating rhythm
Representing the Bergen op Zoom Technical Department in global SABIC Asset Engineering communities / RAS / ATC networks
Owner of the site`s preventive maintenance plan and responsible for fine-tuning and changing the preventative plans based on the principles of continuous improvement
Requirements:
Bachelor, Master's Degree or demonstrable equal degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering/civil engineering (and/or relevant Technical degree)
Minimum 10-15 years working experience in asset engineering, reliability engineering and/or leading technical projects
Have demonstrated manufacturing management skills at advanced / senior level
Language – Fluency in Dutch and English (both oral and written), any additional European language is a bonus
Ability to influence SABIC Europe and Global Partner(s)
Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level (in Manufacturing)
Contribute to Manufacturing projects across Bergen op Zoom, Geleen and other European site(s)
Ability to promote local and global corporate values
Excellent Conceptual, Communication and Analytical Skills
In depth knowledge of interconnecting Business Units and Functions across Industry
Excellent presentation and network skills
Experience with working in multi cultural and diverse environment and influencing and engaging at senior management level
