Job Description

bjectives of the Position         

  • Support process engineering research topics in India and Asia.
  • Provide continuous support to ODs and production sites in India and Asia.
  • Support process and reaction engineering research lab development activities and innovation

Main Tasks

  • Understand the ODs needs and provide robust and timely solutions based on the principles of process, reaction and fluid flow engineering.
  • Provide continuous support for troubleshooting, operations reliability enhancement, OPEX reduction and carbon footprint reduction efforts for production sites across India and Asia.
  • Operate lab and/or pilot scale batch/continuous chemical reactors and separation units for new process development, scale-up and intensification of existing processes.
  • Understand/develop Process Flow Diagram (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs) for existing and new processes and plants.
  • Develop kinetics/fluid flow modelling and process simulation capabilities to leverage process engineering knowledge, resources, and expertise.
  • Operate and participate in the troubleshooting of the process/reactor system automation facilities for seamless operations in Mumbai research labs.
  • Work closely on the collaborative research topics between the research groups in Shanghai and Mumbai.
  • Strictly follow the legal, information protection and EHS compliance regulations.

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

  • Education: Masters/bachelor’s in chemical engineering or related
  • Working Experience:
    1-3 years’ experience in the domain of process engineering and/or chemical reaction engineering and/or polymer engineering, process scale-up, process development and optimization.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
    Experience with data analysis, process simulation and modelling of reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, filters, crystallizers, pumps, etc.

Experience of working in R&D environment in an industrial organization is desirable.

Experience of setting up lab scale reactors/ separation/work-up units and manage their operations efficiently.

  • Communication:

Proactive, open, and self-motivated, ability or potential to handle multi-interface communication.

  • English:
    Be able to use English as work language.  
  • Proficient in process simulation software; skillful in standard applications such as MS Office; familiar with plant data collection system and analysis;
