Where the chemistry happens…

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation and technical support needed to execute the required production plan for Acrylics production. You will also demonstrate strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies.  You will play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizing cycle times, and providing process expertise. Additionally, you will lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions when problems arise

You Create Chemistry By...

• Partnering with Operations to maintain safe operation of Acrylics processes.
• Identifying and leading projects to debottleneck and/or otherwise improve cost and processes. 
• Providing troubleshooting support, including off-hours support, for processes to safely resume production during production issues. 
• Clearly communicating processes and requirements to site personnel and as part of projects. 
• Providing technical guidance and root cause analysis facilitation for investigations. Demonstrating technical responsibility for all plant trials in Acrylics. 
• Delivering solutions for recurring process issues

If you...

• Possess a bachelors in chemical engineering. Must have experience in chemical production. 
• Have excellent computer skills, ABB, and Triconex automation knowledge.
• Are familiared with process equipment and instrumentation.
• Have solid problem-solving skills, experience in root cause failure analysis.
• Have a strong understanding of Process Safety Concepts and their applications and familiarity with EHS procedures/standards, including PSM. 
• Are excellent in communication skills and interpersonal understanding.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing required.
