About you and this role

 

For our customer-facing and innovation-driven finishing facility in Seneffe/Belgium, where we produce specialty performance silicones products, we are currently looking for a Senior Improvement Engineer.

 

In this role, you will lead and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, product quality, and safety across our operations. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a deep understanding of technology, processes and work practices, strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills. You should be able to lead by influence and effectively collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences to achieve common goals and drive continuous improvement projects from conception to completion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your in-depth process technology and continuous improvement expertise to establish and maintain credibility with the operations team.
  • Drive knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.
  • Partner with the experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the plant level EH&S improvement goals.
  • Champion process safety activities and serve as a key resource for addressing relevant process safety concerns. Partner with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators to be used in identifying of technology gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology. Lead and support plant continuous improvement and support the capital plan for the facility. Lead continuous improvement activities for the facility and may serve in specific global projects related roles of project manager or manufacturing representative.
  • Lead the response to unplanned events or exercises at the plant, ensuring potential solutions are captured and prioritized appropriately.
  • Serve as the implementation arm of the technology center.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of chemical processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive working style and critical thinking ability.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • English- and French language skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in improvement engineering and project management is preferred.
