Job Description

We are looking for an engineer who can contribute his or her knowledge to improve the capacity, quality and efficiency of our factory.

What will you do?

  • Provide process engineering knowledge for the design of production facilities, with a clear focus on safety, capacity, flexibility, cost and quality
  • Identify solutions to increase production capacity, improve quality and reduce production costs at the Porriño factory.
  • Develop production processes, or adapt existing ones, for new Syngenta products that are introduced at the CP Porriño factory, covering a broad portfolio and including plant development and compliance/compliance systems.
  • Achieve stability and robustness in studies/pilot tests and provide technical guides.
  • Contribute to the creation and achievement of the long-term investment plan for the Porriño factory.

Responsibilities:

  • Control the daily process in terms of performance and efficiency. Investigate operational problems that affect Production (process conditions, physical-chemical parameters and manage corrective deviations). Generate a technical development plan focused on process improvements and capturing new opportunities.
  • Provide support to the process of introducing new products, supporting the organization with the start-up of production.
  • Create and execute experimental programs aimed at solving routine technical problems observed during full-scale production. Provide training to the team.
  • Improve existing operations, creating new methods, processes or technologies (define the scope, evaluate technology options, collaborate with the risk assessment process and manage small implementation processes).
  • Develop the role of PSKO1 from the factory. Provide technical knowledge, guidance and support on HSE related topics including compliance with regulatory measures and process safety.
  • Generate the definition of the process in the factory investment projects, including plant design and evaluation of equipment and specifications.
  • Participate in the creation of the factory's investment plan by providing improvement ideas and possible technical solutions that lead to an improvement in the formulation and packaging processes.
  • Provide technical support during the execution of projects with capital investment in the factory.
  • Create and/or participate in networks with agents external to the factory related to technology, processes and process safety, including the PSKO network.
  • Be in contact and collaborate with the Process Engineers of the Syngenta development centers

Requirements

 

What are we looking for?

  • University Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemistry.
  • Languages: Spanish and English at a high level, both spoken and written.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the chemical industry, both in process development and in production environments or associated support functions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the dangers of chemical processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the behavior of formulations in facilities, whether from the point of view of formulation development, from an operational Production position or from the design of facilities for chemical plants.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of process engineering principles.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision. With influencing skills and without any direct formal authority.
  • You will work as part of an integrated and flexible team and will therefore be required to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to help others and the motivation to work towards team objectives.
  • Establish your own standards of order, safety and compliance with quality and safety standards.
