£65,000 - £110,000PA PA tax free + generous housing allowance  

Our client is a prestigious, global player in the international Insurance market. The company’s interests and expertise cover challenging, high hazard sectors including oil and gas, shipping, power, construction, energy, refining /petrochemicals, and mass- transport. The organisation’s services extend from underwriting technical support to incident analysis, claims assistance, reinsurance advice, business interruption, risk assessment, mitigation and so on. The immediate focus is on recruiting an additional experienced engineer with a successful offshore operational /production profile into its UAE energy risk group.  The job holder will undertake physical /condition/ integrity surveys, the review of operational and maintenance practice and procedures, assess client Insurance specifications and requirements, investigate claims and losses, perform desk top risk assessments, and produce clear, lucid reports for underwriters, clients, and advisors. For this role a substantial pedigree in process safety acquired with a major operating company is essential 

Essential Candidate Requirements:

 Offshore Operational Technical Support/ Trouble Shooting

Production Leadership

Oil and Gas Operational Process Safety

Inspection/Asset Integrity/Condition surveys

 Process Engineering

 Process Safety :  HAZOP Leader / QRA/ ALARP /DSEAR / LOPA capabilities. 

 Fire Protection / Detection / FERA

General Attributes and Candidate Preferences

For all the roles the following attributes would be beneficial but are not essential:

Fluency in Arabic

Fluency in French

Core requirements:

They involve 60-80 nights away per year within EMEA.

Written and Verbal Communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work at all levels within a client Organisation. Production of the Underwriting report following a survey is a key skill.

The ability to lead a team of insurance engineers to conduct Underwriting Surveys, typically between 2- and 5-day duration at client sites.

For key sites or large sites extended surveys of 2 weeks are sometimes required

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
