Job Description

Are you energized by a process engineering role that allows you to enhance your project management skills in a state-of-the-art production environment?  If so, this Process Engineering role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.

 

As a Process Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for optimizing, owning, and ensuring the performance of critical manufacturing and packaging work centers; and identifying and executing process improvement projects. You will serve as the single point of contact for the technical process support, development, and maintenance of assigned products.

 

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Investigate and resolve production problems. Determine root causes of failures using problem solving and statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. Investigate or resolve operational problems such as occurrences, deviations and process investigations.

  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products and processes or reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment, packaging methods, quality control standards or product design, materials and parts; provide technical risk assessments and justification documents.

  • Provide technical process support and expertise for the scale up and/or transfer in of new products and/or process changes due to materials, equipment, or other environmental factors.

  • Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.

  • Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.

  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost effectiveness. Participate in site-wide priorities and lean initiatives.

  • Coordinate, conduct and evaluate experiments and trial production batches for material changes (packaging components, APIs, and excipients).

  • Maintain product lifecycle documents.

  • Prepare reports summarizing information or trends related to process performance.

  • Effectively contribute to the successful achievement of safety, quality and production goals and metrics through excellent technical process support and problem solving.

  • Consistently demonstrate successful project management as measured in terms of scope, schedule and cost attainment and effective coordination and communications with stakeholders.

  • Consistently demonstrate subject matter expertise on the unique characteristics of the assigned processes.

  • Individual contributions and leadership in the deployment and integration of lean manufacturing principles and tools

  • This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining, and updating the master manufacturing and packaging instructions for the site quality systems.

  • 3 years work experience in a similar position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific, engineering or related field

  • Prior experience working in a pharmaceutical plant or other heavily regulated manufacturing environment.
