Job Description

Following business expansion, a vacancy has arisen for a Primary Olefins Engineer within our Customer Technical Services team based at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.  

Salary up to £55,000

The key responsibilities of this role include: 

Providing expertise and technical support to sales and marketing activities in EMEA, including travel as required, on Primary Olefin process application additive treatments, plant production issues and resolutions.

Working closely with the Sales team to identify new sales opportunities, to provide technical support and expertise to field sales and to monitor Primary Olefins markets to understand drivers, trends and competitor activities.

Providing technical support for defining and developing strategies for new products and/or applications in the Primary Olefin area and support translating these into value propositions for the business.

Supporting new product introduction as well as providing remote and onsite technical support to existing treatment applications.

Carrying out pre application discovery audits, running field performance trials with our own technical service engineers, which would include data gathering from the DCS and interpreting chemical performance, liaising with the operations teams and making dose adjustments recommendations where necessary.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Any process experience in the field of ethylene and styrene monomer manufacturing and an understanding of business drivers. 
  • A degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or aligned subject.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales and marketing activities and techniques.
  • An awareness of the treatment and use of process additive solutions in ethylene production, especially in dilution steam, compressors and olefins recovery sections.
