DuPont is seeking an Senior Automation & Process Control Engineer at their manufacturing site in Newark, Delaware. 

This business unit is part of DuPont’s Electronics and Industrial Division.  Electronics and Industrial is comprised of a number of high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to semiconductors, electronics and industrial sectors.  The CMPT facilities in Newark consist of polymer manufacturing for hard and soft pads used in semiconductor wafer polishing and involves several operations such as casting, curing, skiving, grooving, buffing, laminating, and finishing. 

The role provides technical expertise, direction, and leadership in the A&PC arena to the Newark site to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of CMP pads.  The position is recognized as a leader and expert in A&PC and will serve as the group leader of the site A&PC resources including other A&PC Engineers, Process Data Systems Engineers, and HMI/PLC technologists. 

Your key responsibilities:

• Drive continuous improvement and step-change improvements in process technology, plant performance and cost competitiveness through deployment of automation & controls technologies.
• Champion and implement the use of A&PC principles, standards, guidance, solutions, and Best Practices. 
• Create and own long-term control systems vision and relation system migration plans, and ensure capital plans properly reflect these plans.
• Provide functional guidance and act as a technical liaison between the Process Controls group and all site organizations.
• Serve as owner of process control system infrastructure, programming, cybersecurity, and related management of change activity.
• Lead and direct the scope-development, design, commissioning, and startup of the A&PC scope of capital improvement projects.
• Serve as or work closely with site safety interlock guardian to ensure all Safety Instrumented System requirements are met.
• Functional or administrative leader of the site A&PC resources including the A&PC Engineers, Process Data Systems team and the PLC Technologists depending on the background or experience of the individual.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering field with at least 10 years’ experience in process optimization and control systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with –
  • DuPont Process Safety Management (PSM) process particularly S21A, S25A and the DX_S standards.
  • Unit operations and process control technology application to discrete parts and batch manufacturing operation.
  • Process control requirements, system architecture design, configuration, integration, and implementation of process control strategies utilizing PLCs-based control systems and HMI programming.
  • Specifying, installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting instruments and analyzers.
  • Control logic troubleshooting and ability to effectively involve all suppliers and customers in problem solving.
  • Loop checks, equipment check-out and process commissioning.
  • Design and utilization of data historians.
• Excellent interpersonal, communications, coaching and organizational/planning skills both for direct management responsibilities and interfaces with different functions across the site/business.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high-volume workload with shifting and competing priorities.    
• Ability to set priorities and organize work.
• Ability to lead and drive change in the organization using influence and negotiation skills.
• Promote and strong ‘customer focus’ attitude.
• Ability to motivate others to achieve results.
