Shell is seeking for energetic and capable Reservoir Engineers to support its Oil and Gas Field Development Organisation based in The Hague NL and London UK.

The Development and Subsurface organisation, that is part of Shell’s Integrated Gas & Upstream directorate, identifies, evaluates and designs development and subsurface opportunities at all stages of the field development lifecycle and supports projects all over the world including acquisitions and divestments as well as projects for CO2 Capture and Storage.

As Reservoir Engineer, you’ll be member of one or more of these project teams. You’ll be called upon to deliver Reservoir Engineering analysis and work with staff from other disciplines to deliver quality and fit-for-purpose products to meet the deadlines on a range of top priority projects. You’ll need to be strong deliverer with solid subsurface skills base. You must also really enjoy working with people and helping teams to deliver.
What’s the role?
As Reservoir Engineer in the team, you’ll be responsible to deliver technical reservoir engineering work to support project decisions. The portfolio that you will be involved in covers everything from exploration/appraisal projects, acquisitions and divestments to green field developments and large brownfield redevelopments to CO2 storage. Given the global nature of the portfolio, you’ll work on large variety of geological and fluid settings; both onshore and offshore.
You’ll be expected to come up with innovative ideas, robust solutions and be well-aware of latest technological developments. As many projects, have both limited data and a short delivery time. The ability to high level benchmark opportunities to place them is a right context is important. As you’ll often work in small team, being the only discipline representative; you are required to be able to work independently with limited direct steer. The ability to quickly build networks and perform fast quality/sense checks with peers will help you to provide fit for purpose solutions.
As Reservoir Engineer, you’ll often be playing an integrating role in the development team; ensuring proper framing of the value drivers in relation to technical detail required in the subsurface work. Being able to place the technical work in the larger development picture is key. The position may also offer growth and broadening opportunities including cross-discipline integration responsibilities.
What we need from you
Were keen to hear from Reservoir Engineers with relevant experience in integrated Subsurface Studies and/or Well Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM) and MSc in Petroleum Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
