Refinery/Petrochemical Operations Consultant
Our international client is the consultancy arm of an energy technology, Intellectual property and expert services group focussing mainly on the Downstream and Midstream sectors. With several world-wide offices and a service offering predicated on “ no cost, or low cost “ improvements to plant and particularly refinery and petrochemical plant performance metrics , our client is looking for further talent to strengthen its operational consulting team on back of increased client demand. Clients include operating companies, banks, investors, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies, insurers , technology houses and engineers.
Main Aspects of the role:
Working as part of a team in the asset and operations consulting business line, typical projects include profit Improvement programs, strategic analysis, operational excellence, process trouble shooting and plant optimisation/debottlenecking, RAM and maintenance/ shutdown /turnaround planning and practice development, due diligence and due care, operational interruption and disruption analysis. This role requires an excellent base level understanding of general refinery process operations. Knowledge of modelling and programming tools such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and PIMS would be advantageous. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team- both within the location and remotely. The successful candidate will be willing to travel to travel as and when required – mainly on an international basis (with some domestic travel).
BEng/ MEng in Chemical/ Process engineering is required or equivalent experience * Experience of base level refinery operations and refinery economics is essential * Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines within budget and achievement of planned margins * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (excellent English skills, both written and oral) and the ability to deal with colleagues and clients professionally * Ability to work well in team environment under supervision and willingness to assist others * Display a high level of professionalism towards colleagues and as an ambassador of the company * Must be a self-starter that demonstrates a flexible approach.
