Our Strip Products UK manufactures hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain. We currently have an opportunity within our business for Process Engineers. Identifying, recommending and implementing improvements to plant, you’ll be instrumental in optimising product volume and yields, and maximising unit safety and reliability, whilst minimising operating costs. Providing prompt and efficient technical advice, you’ll identify solutions to plant performance problems and support process trials.
You’ll also develop and implement changes to equipment, procedures and processes. This will include the design of improvement projects, and help to design, procure, install and commission related new equipment. You’ll lead Hazard Operability Studies (HAZOP) and other structured risk assessments, develop Safe Work procedures, and train manufacturing personnel.
What we’re looking for
Educated to degree level in Chemical Engineering, if you are not already a Chartered Engineer, you should be actively working towards Chartered status with IChemE. It is essential that you have proven experience in one or more of the following core areas: Process / Plant Design and Specification; Process Safety; Energy Efficiency; Heat Transfer; Combustion Processes: Solids Handling. We’ll also expect you to demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with counterparts in other installations and businesses, as part of your commitment to facilitate continuous improvement and ongoing organizational learning.
