Research Associate – Water in the Circular Economy

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join the team at the University of Bath Water Innovation and Research Centre working on a Horizon 2020 project on Water in the Circular Economy

You will contribute to this large European project ‘NextGen: Towards a Next Generation of Water Systems and Services for the Circular Economy” with 30 partners in Europe, working on 10 full-scale demonstration case studies. Your focus will be on a case study near Bristol, the Filton Airfield Development, in collaboration with YTL Developments, the owner of the area. You will be part-time stationed at YTL’s office in Filton. Your main task will be to develop options for rainwater re-use, and energy and materials recovery from the water cycle. You will work with YTL to potentially embed them in the Filton development. Other tasks comprise amongst others evaluating energy recovery at all 10 case studies.

We are seeking an engineer (civil, chemical) with research expertise and interest in water management and technology. The minimum requirement is to have a PhD related to this field of work.

This post is full time and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis for up to 40 months.

Informal enquiries about the post may be made to Professor Jan Hofman, Director of the Water Innovation and Research Centre
