Outstanding applicants are sought for the post of Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Bath, UK. This is an open-ended, full-time post on the same salary scale as Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer / Reader. The post holder will provide inspirational leadership of and teaching on taught postgraduate (MSc) courses in the Department. 

The successful applicant will have undergraduate and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering or very closely-related disciplines. They will have recent experience of, strong enthusiasm for and evidence of high-quality teaching in Chemical Engineering mainly at taught postgraduate level especially in sustainability, environmental management or similar areas. They will be appointed as Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies in the Department which involves leadership of and teaching on current MSc courses and also driving forward the development of new taught postgraduate courses in line with the University’s strategy to grow PGT provision.

Selection Process

All applications are online. They must include a full and up-to-date CV and also a separate, 4pp max outline of teaching philosophy, experience and plans for the post. Initial selection of a long list will be via informal Skype interviews, in which case please provide a Skype address in your application. Candidates who are then shortlisted will be invited to Bath to tour the Department and University, give an oral presentation, and attend a formal face-to-face, panel interview on 24 July 2018. We expect the successful applicant to be in post as early as possible thereafter.
