Associate Risk Engineer
This is an exciting development role with the UAE office of a major, international player in the Insurance sector. Our client provides cover to a host of high hazard activities within the COMAH regulated sector and particularly cover associated with refinery, petrochemical and oil and gas operations. This role is within the technical risk team providing the underwriters with technical insight and assessment. Suiting a pre or immediately post chartered chemical engineer, the role will focus upon the development of skills required to meet the teams obligations and brief. This will include undertaking condition surveys of plant, maintaining/applying insight into product/feedstock and replacement equipment costs, acquiring/exercising skills in dispersion and explosion modelling and desk top risk assessments, identifying and describing processes, feedstocks and products, analysing losses and claims for root causes and financial impact, producing lucid reports with recommendations and justifications for underwriters. Our client is looking for an academically well qualified chemical engineer with basic experience of refinery, petrochemical or hydrocarbon operations (as a production, maintenance or operations engineer), ideally acquired on a major, multi-unit facility. Our client is not looking for process design engineers at this stage.
