Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.  Develops and evaluate plans for major projects.  Utilizes front end loading process and best practices to facilitate cost effective process engineering and project development.  May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable.  Leads development of all process design calculations and deliverables such as hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, process simulations, Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities.  Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.  Some marketing responsibilities. Other duties as assigned


Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from accredited program.  Minimum 7 years related experience professional experience with engineering teams for delivery of capital projects.  Lead engineer for EPC projects is strongly preferred.  Process engineering experience in the Oil, Gas & Chemical industries is strongly preferred.

Excellent written & verbal communication skills.  Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients is necessary.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.  This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.  Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.  Previous consulting experience preferred. Professional Engineer.

Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as process simulation software (i.e. Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI).
