We employ over 2,000 people worldwide whose skills and knowledge range from chemical and electrical engineering to food technology, manufacturing and everything in-between.

About our role:

As a business, we are going through a period of change, moving from a supply driven organisation to one that is customer, market and product led.  Our Product Development teams spread across four continents play a pivotal role in this and to help us achieve 100% of our potential, we are looking to recruit a Strategic Projects Manager.

Reporting to the Global Head of Product Development and based from one of our European locations or from your home, you will have responsibility for project and programme management of Devro’s global portfolio of strategic product development projects.

You will have all of the support and direction from us that you need to succeed, with the right level of autonomy to allow you to thrive.

About you:

Due to the technical nature of the role, you will be qualified to a minimum of degree level in a relevant field, such as physical or applied science, or similar.  Further to academic qualifications, you will have demonstrable experience in a Project/Programme Management or PMO role, overseeing the end to end delivery of business critical projects.  This experience will be gained from working in similar scientific business, ideally with a manufacturing operation.

The success of the role is based on your ability to manage a limited number of strategically important projects.  You will therefore be someone with advanced project management skills, including: planning, tracking progress, resource allocation, outcome delivery amongst other things.  Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate robust analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to vary your approach to the situation.  Familiarity with appropriate software tools, such as WorkFront would be highly advantageous.

Your core technical abilities will be complimented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to build profitable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  You will therefore have excellent verbal and written English language skills, with other language skills being highly desirable.  Coaching and development of colleagues will be a strength of yours, as well as the ability to empower staff to fulfil their potential.  That said, you will have the depth of character and cultural awareness to work across geographies and to challenge the status quo.

Due to the global nature of the role you will be expected to be flexible with your time and standard duties, including occasional international travel.  A full driver’s licence is required.
