Centre Manager for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Chemical Technologies
Department of Chemistry
The Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies http://www.bath.ac.uk/csct/ at the University of Bath invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to provide management to ensure the successful delivery and future sustainability of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Sustainable Chemical Technologies (SCT).
The multidisciplinary Centre is extremely successful and has grown rapidly since 2009. It currently hosts over 70 PhD students, involves over 50 academic staff across six departments of the University, works with over 20 industrial and international partners and has a grant portfolio in excess of £30M.
The Manager will work closely with the CDT directors, academic supervisors, and our industrial and international partners. This will be a wide-ranging role with responsibility for delivering the strategy of the Centre both within the long-term vision and on a daily basis.
A key part of the role will be professional facilitation of key doctoral training activities including the annual Summer Showcase conference, Industry Forum and student-led symposia. The CDT Manager will also pursue additional funding and long-term engagement with new and existing UK and international industrial and academic partners and will be responsible for coordinating public engagement and impact activities and for liaison with EPSRC.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD degree or equivalent professional qualification and have significant experience in a similar role. It is essential that candidates have project and finance management skills and experience of stakeholder management at the interface of academia and industry.
