12-month placement opportunity at a leading pharma company for students studying towards Msc Chemical Eng.

Our client are building a global site footprint by acquiring facilities from leading pharmaceutical companies that have demonstrated records for the highest quality and regulatory standards. They have recently grown their portfolio with a recent acquisition.

They now have one, one-year Chemical Process Engineering placement within their Technical Improvement Group, responsible for; existing product manufacturing support, capital project support, introduction of new products support and Safety, Health and the Environment improvements at their UK primary manufacturing site in Bristol, which is currently responsible for the manufacture of two leading and profitable compounds. This role is for people interested in a career in chemical engineering after graduation. 

Chemical Process Engineers are core to maintaining the supply of commercial compounds to the market, to ensure the site retains its licence to operate and are key to ensuring the manufacturing process is efficient as possible. This is achieved through the application of practical, experimental, and theoretical chemical engineering knowledge and exploitation of the most appropriate innovative technologies and designs. 

During a 12-month student placement they will introduce you to a live manufacturing plant and the process engineering knowledge required to support its continuing operation and process improvement activities. You may also be involved in the accommodation of new manufacturing products on site. You are likely to be involved in plant and design based activities utilising new and existing technologies, you may also be required to support process changes or technology evaluation within the laboratory. There will also be opportunities to learn about the wider business and gain an appreciation of the role that process engineering plays in the end to end development of new medicines. 

The annual salary for the role will be £19,000 plus pension contributions and a site/personal performance related bonus.
