Job Role Summary

 

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams.
 

 

What you will do

 

  • Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel. 
  • Serve as a senior resource working with supervisors on the team to set clear objectives, and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team.
  • Contributes to the local Unit Operations Team:
    • Proactively identifies issues prior to operations impact
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex unit problems and organize resolution of technical issues
    • Lead and/or participates in incident investigation teams
    • Interfaces with external organizations (Engineering, Technology)
  • Provide technical reviews for of special unit ops / events, unit operating changes/projects, process operating envelopes, equipment strategies, etc.
  • Identify unit improvement ideas to meet site initiatives (energy, reliability, costs, etc.)
  • Provide consultation & technical review of process safety including studies for the local site such as HAZOPs, Safety Relief Review (SRR), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPAs)
  • Provide training and mentorship to other engineers;  Develop expertise for long- term continuity of "Product" coverage for the ExxonMobil Chemical Company business
  • Support process network and associated "knowledge base sites". May serve as "knowledge content owner" who supports technology via partnerships and developmental projects with key equipment suppliers, raw material suppliers, technology and core engineers

 

About you
 
Skills and Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor Degree or Masters in Chemical / Petrochemical Engineering
  • Minimum ten (10) years industrial experience in manufacturing or technology inclusive of at least five (5) years’ experience in unit operations / distillation / fractionation / gas treating / utilities 
  • Excellent interpersonal, multi-cultural and communication skills
  • Possesses leadership capabilities with organization, communication, and team working skills, through a combination of formal training and experience
  • Mentor/Role Model for setting work standards and business ethics
  • Initiates, supports and champions technically advanced solutions/developments in the process area
  • Leadership skills to influence local operations team 
  • Maintain key interfaces (e.g. ExxonMobil Chemical Company networks, key vendors and suppliers, etc.)
