Explosives and energetic materials are a valuable, yet high-risk industry. As an Explosives Safety Engineer, you know that better than anyone. Whether professionally qualified or with significant experience, your knowledge of the production, storage and handling, process hazard identification and transport of these materials makes you an asset to the field. But have you thought about applying your skills in a unique capacity – as a specialist at the Health and Safety Executive?

We need to add another technical expert to the team – someone who is unflappable under pressure, who is passionate about inspiring change for the better, and who is capable of thinking strategically about risk in different workplaces. Your technical knowledge will grow as your work encompasses mines, explosives and pipelines, plus chemical and pharmaceutical production, protecting both staff and the public from preventable accidents. Furthermore, you will also offer your expertise to government departments, the police and local authorities – meaning there really are no limits to what you can achieve in this important and unique role. It’s an opportunity not only to protect lives and livelihoods but also to help employers innovate, be productive and grow.
