Job Description

Within the Technology and Innovation organization, the ETP- E3P Technology Group develops new products, applications, and processes amongst others for Polycarbonate.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

 

As a process development engineer, you will be working on technology development projects for the PC business in the professional and international technology organization.                  

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation in the PC assets of major improvement projects related with capacity, quality, reliability and costs among others.
  • Actively engage in market intelligence activities to define the technology strategy that will keep SABIC ahead of competition.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary setting within the Technology organization where you will collaborate with different disciplines in Technology, the Business and the Manufacturing environment where project approval, execution and implementation needs to be secured. 
  • Define, execute and manage development projects by properly aligning goals and priorities with the activities and resources required. 
  • To develop and communicate a strategy for new developments in PC process technologies.

  • Ability to influence SABIC Europe and Global Partner(s)
  • Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level including go to for Advice by local manager(s)
  • Ability to work and influence in multi-cultural, diverse Global Community whilst aligning with local and global policy and legal directives

  • Strong Entrepreneurial and Business Acumen working cross business and function(s)

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree (Technical Equivalent) or Ph.D degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology and/or Equivalent
  • Min 3 – 5 years’ Experience in Process Engineering Research and/or Project Engineering
  • Preferably, have experience with Monomers, Polycarbonate research activities, and affinity with analytical techniques.
  • You are willing to grow your experience within process development in an industrial R&D environment with intimacy with product development work. 
  • You are a critical observer as well as a conceptual and analytical thinker. 
  • You are able to spot opportunities for existing and new processes and translate these into value propositions for the business. 
  • You are able to present your project proposals and results in a convincing manner to both business and manufacturing management. 
  • You have a strong interest in working on a project-based organization where your skills and capabilities can be used across different process and product lines. 
  • You are able to keep abreast of the state of the art in process technology and gain knowledge of associated fields and disciplines. 
  • You are a team player but you are also able to work independently on your contribution. 
  • You have a persevering and challenging attitude towards your work environment, but you can also accept other views. 
  • You have knowledge of intellectual property concepts or are willing to learn.
  • Experience with Statistical Analysis, Process Simulation and Design of Experiment approach is a plus (Six Sigma Certification preferred).  
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) other additional European languages a bonus

 

Location: Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands

Travel: 25% (regionally and globally)
