Job Description

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Responsibility for engineering, infrastructure, procurement and maintenance of machines, buildings and equipment in the R&D processing center. Technical lead of polymer processing methods and implementation of new polymer processing technologies. Support for product development in the areas of virgin polymers as well as sustainable and circular solutions.

  • Engineering support for investments, modifications or maintenance of buildings, equipment and infrastructure
  • Procurement and maintenance of machines, devices and equipment for the technical infrastructure
  • Execution of all technical ordering and accounting in SAP
  • Accounting and allocation of services and maintenance cost to the technical segments and internal costumers through SAP project codes
  • Training of staff in technical, quality-related and safety-related topics
  • Preparation of funding request for approval, cost control and technical implementation of approved investment projects in co-ordination with all involved parties (e.g. suppliers, service providers, site, work shop, operations)
  • Joint responsibility for issuing of documents according to internal requirements as well as responsibility for legal requirements for exhaust air, waste water, fire water, and “VAwS”-plants
  • Establish and continuously extend a know-how of the polymer processing center. Stimulate and supervise one or more processing technologies.
  • Provide support to product development activities in compounding of new product solutions and their technical assessment

 

Qualifications

  • High school or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent qualification, with focus on polymers
  • Knowledge of polymer processing methods and/or compounding
  • At least 5 years of related experience in the field above or as PhD
  • Expertise in SAP
  • Ability to manage complex interfaces and a diverse spectrum of internal customers
  • Good resource management and project management skills
  • Good Knowledge of Safety, Health, Quality and Environment Regulations, standards and rules
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Team Player
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Fluent in English and German, written and oral
