Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Improvement Engineer located at LHC-8 in Oyster Creek, TX.

 

About you

The Senior Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing key improvements to the LHC-8 process.  This role partners with the Improvement Leader and Plant/Operations leadership to solicit and collect ideas, describe opportunities, and implement projects.  It will ensure that LHC-8 meets global business goals through optimization of the process technology, implementation of improvement projects and implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET).   It requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.

 

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to improve plant safety, reliability, efficiency and operability.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities for the facility and may serve in specific GPM related roles of project manager or manufacturing representative.
  • Ensures validation of project performance objectives after implementation
  • Serves as the implementation arm of the technology center.  This includes serving as a local focal point for Most Effective Technology (MET) implementation, and LOPA / LPP follow-up.
  • Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets, helping to establish credibility with the operations team.
  • Partners with the experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the plant level EH&S improvement goals.
  • Drives knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.
  • Partners with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators to be used in identification of technology gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provides additional process support for plant operations, including problem solving & troubleshooting.
  • Supports the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology.

 

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering, manufacturing or related experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this U. S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U. S. permanent residency (green card) process.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Previous Hydrocarbons Experience.
  • Previous Project Execution Experience.
