Job Description

Due to several recent contract awards, the Genesis Environment team is expanding. We have a highly skilled team encompassing a diverse range of skills including engineers, ecology experts, marine biologists, chemists, noise specialists, and GIS specialists. The Environmental team currently has a vacancy for an Environmental Specialist with experience in assessing the environmental impacts of infrastructure projects and operations. The successful candidate will primarily be involved in delivering environmental studies and assessments to support successful project outcomes and will be part of project teams interacting with our clients.

The successful candidate will work as part of the highly skilled Environmental Team within Genesis, supporting a wide range of clients on varied and interesting projects related to energy and other industries. You will also interface with the wider Genesis organization through interactions with other discipline teams to provide environmental technical inputs on a variety of projects for public and private clients in the US and overseas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identification and interpretation of relevant regulations and standards (US and overseas)
  • Executing environmental studies and assessments including the application of the environmental impact assessment process and assessment of the best available techniques in line with regulatory and client-specific requirements
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Supporting the preparation of permit applications and statutory Environmental Statements and Environmental Appraisals
  • Supporting clients with reporting and compliance requirements related to onshore operations

Required Skills:

The successful applicant must

  • Have a degree in a Chemical Engineering or environmental subject
  • Have experience in a similar role
  • Have knowledge of US environmental legislation
  • Have experience of writing EIAs for projects
  • Be a strong team player
  • Be well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Have excellent written skills with attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Experience in client relationship building
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS
  • Have knowledge of a range of sectors such as petrochemicals, oil & gas production, wind, infrastructure projects
