Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to support the Freeport Site CM Value Chain as an Asset Effectiveness Engineer where you will be monitoring and evaluating asset effectiveness and performance to drive recommendations for care, operation, and replacement of assets to drive availability improvements.  You will manage and develop the maintenance and non-maintenance portions of the annual production fixed cost budgets and provide forecasting of spend to stakeholders throughout the year.  You will also develop and maintain multi-year asset target picture and asset development picture to support direction in capital and expense investment.

You will work in cross functional teams to determine and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities around asset effectiveness.  This role requires an understanding of equipment criticality, production fixed cost budget development and capital expense work processes. In addition, you will leverage economic analysis, utilizing equipment criticality ratings, information on profit margins and losses, failure rates and time to repair to support maintenance, non-maintenance, and capital recommendations.
This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your ability to lead cross functional teams, influence, persuade, and negotiate.

As an Asset Effectiveness Engineer, you create chemistry by…

Employing your familiarity with tools, such as SAP, you will perform a routine review of asset effectiveness data to make risk based, cost avoidance, and return on investment recommendations pertaining to improvement in asset availability, reliability and return on investment. Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with operations teams to reevaluate mMax production rates and development of the practical available capacity documentation annually to support marketing and supply chain planning.  You will also work in concert with the reliability engineer to apply asset effectiveness data and economic analysis to reliability “bad actor” events and equipment failures to drive prioritization of corrective action identification and implementation. Possessing a familiarity of plants, equipment, and processes, you will enter and maintain operational excellence, return on investment, carbon footprint reduction and sustainability opportunities for the value chain through the OpEx database.  You will also identify and justify opportunities for OpEx spend. Utilizing economic evaluations and knowledge of the fixed cost plan, you will provide guidance to the production and maintenance teams regarding decision making around timing and execution of maintenance and TAR activities as well as performing risk and cost avoidance evaluations to justify spend. Relying on your ability to act as an indirect people leader by leading through influence, you will coordinate with marketing, supply chain, capital projects, accounting, technology, operations, and maintenance to support the annual revision of the value chain Asset Target Picture and Asset Development plan. Applying your solid understanding of equipment criticality evaluation, equipment strategies and maintenance practices, you will participate in annual asset end of life reviews as requested to support decisions around capital reinvestment versus increased maintenance costs.
