This position is part of the Manufacturing Technology (MT) team supporting the Adhesive business within DuPont.

The MT team is accountable for the process technology needed to support the end-to-end manufacture of structural adhesive products and intermediates at the plant sites and tollers. The MT team works across functions (MT, integrated operations & quality, contract manufacturing, EH&S, R&D, TS&D, commercial, marketing, and supply chain) to deliver results on projects in alignment with the site and business needs.

The EMEA MT role has primary responsibilities supporting and improving existing manufacturing operations as well as playing a key role in bringing process changes and new products to the site.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate sincere personal leadership and accountability by being a role model for core values, business & site goals, and continuous improvement

  • Core member of the Schkopau Adhesives support staff; helps set the technical direction

  • Provide technical support for contract manufacturing projects

  • Lead and/or be a technical reviewer for manufacturing process changes; expertise with management of change (MOC) and change of design (COD) work processes;

  • Effectively provide technical support for Schkopau operations; assist with process upsets, root cause analyses, productivity and cost analysis, and continuous improvement projects, working closely to support/mentor/develop ATO, quality, and improvement engineers.

  • Team member on new product commercialization framework (NPCF) projects representing manufacturing during early phases thru commercialization; plays a role in defining and implement manufacturing process(es) to achieve project goals working closely across functions.  Ensures a safe and efficient process is handed over to the operations team via product scale-up process (PSP).

  • Basic data development for capital projects;

  • Support the advancement of the process technology; work with Global Technology Guardians & Global Improvement Leader to execute the technology roadmap.

Your qualification profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Several years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or capital / improvement projects as a manufacturing representative

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex process

  • Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement and statistical analysis experience is an advantage

  • Proven skills with MOC and/or COD is an advantage

  • Experience with polyurethane chemistries, mixing processes is an advantage

  • Experience with new product commercialization

  • Experience with process technology improvements/advancements is an advantage

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills is an advantage

  • Strong team player with an ability to work closely with cross functional teams

  • Fluency in English and German is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with capital project planning and execution
