The Kapton® film manufacturing business is seeking a Product Quality Engineer at the site in Circleville, Ohio. The Circleville site is one of three primary manufacturing locations that produces Kapton® polyimide film for the Interconnect Solutions business unit within DuPont. This business unit is part of DuPont’s Electronics and Imaging Platform. Electronics and Imaging is comprised of many high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors. The Kapton® facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, film casting, and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and extensive slitting. The Circleville site also manufactures Tedlar® film, Teflon® film and Vespel® resin.
The Circleville site is located approximately 30 miles south of Columbus, OH, a growing city that is currently the 14th largest in the nation. This proximity to Columbus allows either urban or rural living; great for families and single living. The area offers many museums and arts-scene experiences, professional and collegiate sports, and has several highly ranked golf courses and state parks for the outdoor enthusiast.

The Product Quality Engineer provides quality guidance/direction and coordinates all quality functions related to the manufacturing of Kapton® film. Provides technical support to Operations with respect to improving the quality of Kapton® film, quality systems, and product-related services. Supports and leads the quality improvement initiatives as part of the continuous improvement philosophy, with focus on prevention and mistake-proofing. Work with area teams using quality tools and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to implement solutions and be a team player with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to improve in-process product quality. This position will be exposed to multiple manufacturing processes and provide day-to-day support as plant operations require.
Requires a BS in Engineering (or equivalent QE work experience will be considered) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a range of personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), Minitab
Working knowledge of Statistical Quality Control / Statistical Process Control
Proficiency with Statistical Analysis software (MiniTab or JMP)
ASQ-CQE certification
IATF-16949 Working knowledge/experience
Minimum 3 years in a Quality Engineer role
Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification
Experience interfacing with Customers and Suppliers on quality and technical issues
Ability to teach and train
