Automation and Process Control (A&PC) Engineer will provide technical leadership and support for the capital projects in automation and process control. The A&PC engineer will participate project teams focusing on preparing basic engineering packages and contribute to safe, efficient and reliable designs of options to meet business growth initiatives. The A&PC engineer supports detailed design and construction phases of projects to insure continuity and cost-effective delivery. Coordination and collaboration with other project team members, including engineering and construction contractors as well as site operations personnel and leadership, are keys to success in the role. Support for commissioning and start-up of new assets is also provided as needed to meet business goals. The role will also provide automation and process control engineering support for manufacturing facilities by gathering data, evaluating improvement opportunities, developing the scope, and implementing projects in W&P businesses in Japan. After several years of experiences in Japan, the scope of work will extend to AP region across all businesses in DuPont facilities in future.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Designs and commission control systems by configuring/developing DCS systems and SIF (SIS).
Automates and manages existing automation of process functions
Supports in developing HMI graphics that enable efficient technician response and knowledge of the process operation.
Provides control systems input into project development and design schedules.
Ensures that the control software management is adequate and applied to achieve the project goals.
Provides programming and commissioning support, basic administration of control systems including monitoring and upkeep of applications.
Participates in and leads control system projects as required.
Participates with investigations of process control incidents and ensures follow-up actions are completed to prevent recurrences.
Assists in developing and achieving control system goals and ensures tasks are completed.
Occasional travel (<30% of time) will be required to support multiple projects in W&P business in Japan
Required Qualifications:
B.S. / M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related degree with process control experience will be considered.
5+ years of prior experience in any of the following: manufacturing, technology development, designing control systems, or capital project engineering.
Experiences in SIF or SIS in design, install, commission and test.
Strong technical, analytical and functional skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must work well in both a self-managed and team environment.
Influence leadership and conflict resolution skills.
Business English
Flexible with frequent business travels. Expected travel frequency - 25-50%

Process Safety Management Experience
Process Hazard Analysis or LOPA
Root cause investigation methodology
Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black)
Manufacturing or start-up / commissioning experience
Exposure to project / engineering work process and deliverables
Technical knowledge of the instrument, control system, automation in achieving business objectives
Location can be Tokyo, Soma(Fukushima), Kanuma(Tochigi) or Kasaoka(Okayama)
