As a Process Safety Management Change Manager at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, you will:

Own the responsibility to improve the Process Safety Management (PSM) program in a sustainable manner at the Athens, GA site.

Work in partnership with multifunctional groups and collaborate with the business across departments with internal and external partners is a crucial aspect to this role.

A deep understanding of process safety management systems, operational integrity, leadership and change management is key.

A deeper understanding of some of the highly complex technical elements within PSM (PHA/HAZOP, explosion safety, electrostatics, functional safety, mechanical integrity, is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any or all of the following:

  • Be a Change Manager to improve the PSM maturity based on an aligned strategic (multiyear) plan and tactical (yearly) plan.
  • Engage with site PSM element owners to ensure proper implementation and execution of Process Safety Management systems, operational integrity, and site capacity related to PSM to identify and prioritize weaknesses to optimize the PSM strategic and tactical plans.
  • Influence and align roles in all layers of the organization to improve PSM competency and capacity in Athens.
  • Create development plans for and coach key people in the PSM program to increase their capabilities.
  • Establishes a wide internal and external knowledge network, performs regular benchmarks within industry to drive continuous improvement.
  • Active member of the Athens PSM core team to assure the Athens PSM program improvements are tracked and executed following established metrics and measures.
  • Be a member of the Change Control Board to assure all necessary actions are triggered related to process safety management during process and equipment changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering or Process technology (bioengineering, industrial engineering or chemistry).
  • 5+ years of relevant Process Safety Management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated cross functional/matrixed leadership required.
  • A deep understanding of some of the highly complex elements within PSM (PHA/HAZOP, explosion safety, pressure safety valve calculations, functional safety, electrostatics) is required.
  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment is required.
  • Technical knowledge of some of the following: batch chemical reactors, dryers and centrifuges preferred.
  • Possess good change project management, organizing, planning and coordination skills.
  • Able to set-up and maintain communication with partners and wider network organization.
  • Motivated, able to work independently and take decisions autonomously, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and result driven personality.
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills, e.g.: influencing and handling conflicting interests.
  • Develop strong collaborations with internal and external business partners. Is an excellent teammate.
  • Working knowledge of English (both verbally and written).
