Job Description:

Element Six would like to recruit for the position of Technical Development Engineer. As part of the Engineering team, the primary role of the successful candidate will be to source, evaluate and implement new technology that will deliver cost, capacity and capability improvements. This role is a technical role, requiring attention to detail, as well as project management and problem solving through data analysis using good engineering & scientific methods.

  • Primary role is to identify new technology that can be utilized to re-engineer manufacturing processes to deliver cost reduction as well as new and improved capability
  • The role involves working closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance & External Suppliers
  • Ensure Safety is number one priority in all work carried out.
  • Responsible to identify and evaluate potential new technology
  • Create business case for investments and project manage from development stage right through to Production Handover
  • Commissioning and optimization of new equipment & processes
  • Develop efficient, robust & repeatable manufacturing processes
  • Develop new process capability to support improved new product offerings.
  • Keep up to date with latest advancements and new innovative technologies.
  • Follow through on action logs, project milestones and presentations.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience
  • Appropriate Engineering qualification. NFQ Level 8 or higher.
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in Manufacturing advantageous
  • Demonstrated track record of Equipment sourcing & implementation, Technical Development and/or Process Improvement Activity.
  • Some experience in Six Sigma and lean systems is an advantage.
  • Examines data to understand issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication, people and team working skills.
  • A team player with a can do, pro-active attitude and a passion for improvement.
  • Good understanding of health & safety standards as well as quality standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
