Process Engineer

 

 

Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of process engineering. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or show leadership capabilities managing areas or systems within projects.  Must have experience and be proficient in developing heat and material balances using process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS and process flow diagrams (PFDs). Experience required with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) development as well as experience generating fluid hydraulic calculations for line sizing and formulation of process data for in-line instruments and loads for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and turbines. Skills are acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6-15 years. Candidates should have experience or exposure to the following:

 

  • Generating process design simulations, Design Basis’, PFDs, Utility Load Lists, Equipment List, equipment sizing, and leading or conducting process studies
  • P&ID development
  • Cross office coordination with high value engineering centers
  • Typical process engineering calculations such as hydraulics, relief valves, design pressures and temperatures, vessel and tower sizing, etc
  • Greenfield and brownfield FEED or EPC project experience
  • Experience on projects in some of the following sectors - Hydrogen, LNG, Ammonia, Olefins, Refining, Specialty Chemicals, CCUS, Biofuels
  • Field experience preferred
  • EIT or PE preferred
