About Billings Refinery

The Billings refinery is located in Lockwood, Montana – a suburb of Billings, the energy, health care and financing hub of Montana.  The Billings refinery is a key supplier of refined petroleum products to the Northern Plains states.  Completed in 1949, the Billings refinery employs about 320 people and has 80-100 contractors on site. The refinery has a capacity to process 60,000 barrels of crude oil a day, which amounts to about 400 million gallons of gasoline and 200 million gallons of diesel per year.

What role you will play in our team

We are looking for a Process Control engineer to provide process control engineering support at the Billings refinery in Billings, Montana.   

What you will do

• Maintain and modify existing process control applications and operator interfaces
• Identify and install new applications and interfaces to increase process safety, operability and profitability
• Provide process control support during project development, installation and start-up

About you

We are looking for someone who has a strong process engineering background and has the following qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

• MS/BS Chemical Engineer or equivalent degree
• Knowledge of refinery, ethylene or aromatics processing technologies
• Demonstrated experience with regulatory and advanced control technologies 
• Experience with DMC or Real-Time Optimizers
• Knowledge of Honeywell TDS, Experion or Foxboro process control systems
• Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Knowledge of Honeywell TDC 3000 process control system (site’s current control system)
• Demonstrated work experience in a refinery
