Job Description

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure the operability, reliability, and functional integrity of the assigned assets
  • Manage maintenance activities related to inspection and repairs as well as turnarounds of the assigned assets
  • Plan, execute, and monitor multiple basic budget/mid-sized investment projects
  • Participate in the planning and execution of major investments in his/her area of responsibility
  • Take responsibility for troubleshooting asset and process problems and for identifying, evaluating, and implementing equipment / process modifications to eliminate deficiencies and bottlenecks
  • Assure compliance with technical rules and regulations as well as with company policies, statutes, and operational excellence practices
  • Keep and update technical documentation and records
  • Coordinate internal and external service providers
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement technical knowledge and best practice transfer between the plant engineers


WHO YOU ARE

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields
  • Several years of progressive experience in engineering and plant operations in multi-product plants in the chemical industry
  • Good technical knowledge in the fields of chemical engineering and related areas
  • Leadership skills including strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship building
  • Project management skills including planning, budget management, and execution
  • Good knowledge of engineering tools and skills
  • Good understanding of supporting processes associated with the operations and maintenance of a production plant
  • Good knowledge of technical standards and regulations
  • Fluent German as well as very good English skills, both written and spoken
