JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Functional expert for the APC and mobile support systems and responsible for ensuring unrestricted availability and strategic further development and optimization in the area of ​​responsibility
• Responsibility for the proper operation of the systems, the integrity and stability of the assigned applications in plant automation
• Support of the plant technologists in the analysis and correction of complex plant problems
• Creation and maintenance of operating and procedural instructions as well as risk assessments
• Selection and instruction of the executor in the delegation of tasks and control of the delegated activities
• Ensuring compliance with legal and group-internal requirements for the assigned systems
• Creation and maintenance of inspection and maintenance plans for the systems to be maintained
• Participation in investment projects and small projects (MOC)
• Cooperation with partner companies (offers, complaints, execution)
• Close cooperation with the group's international Center of Excellence as the focal point for local automation technology

• Ability to influence SABIC Europe and Global Partner(s)
• Ability to balance supportive/steering activities at Site and European level (in Manufacturing)
• Contribute to Manufacturing projects across Germany
• Ability to work and influence in multi-cultural, diverse Global Community whilst aligning with local and global policy and legal directives
• Ability to promote local and global corporate values

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor and/or Master’s Engineering Degree or Equivalent (ideally Postgrad or equivalent) in the field of automation technology or comparable or Master Craftsman/Technician (German equivalent Degree) in the field of EMR technology with many years of experience in the field of process control
• Minimum 5 + years relevant experience required in Process Control Environment
• Excellent Conceptual, Communication and Analytical Skills
• Fluency (both written and Oral) in German and English
• Extensive experience with APC/DCS systems, network infrastructure and server farms
• Knowledge of the maintenance of (petro)chemical industrial plants
• Experience in deriving safety requirements from risk assessments
• High planning and control competence
• Decision-making competence and routine appearance in stressful phases

Location: Gelsenkirchen, Germany

Travel: up to 25% (regionally and globally)
