Engineer Insurance, Risk & Safety

Job Description

Energy Insurance Risk

Our client is a world leader in the Energy, Chemicals and Petroleum insurance sector providing risk engineering services across the globe, for clients in all COMAH sectors, from oil & gas exploration and production, through refining and downstream petrochemicals. The business is looking to recruit an additional engineer to work in its fast growing and well-established London hub that supports EMEA.

The role will be heavily client facing, undertaking physical condition surveys of client assets, generating descriptions of processes and their key control features, producing building and plant loss estimates, conducting training, and benchmarking exercises and performing desk-top risk exercises. The role offers the opportunity to interact with senior client staff in risk management, operations, and engineering functions. The ability to communicate to all organizational levels is a critical competency, and a key task is the production of underwriting reports, requiring the ability to summarise data in a structured report format.

Roles are available for individuals with substantial experience within oil & gas, LNG, refining or petrochemical operations, possibly at a leadership level. Experience within Inspection or asset Integrity, operational process safety or group audit would be particularly beneficial. However, energy operations, technical support and maintenance functions would be an ideal background. A degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering is the preferred technical qualification. Our client is not looking for dedicated design or project engineers at this stage.

The role includes the opportunity for international travel to client sites within the Middle East and further afield. For newly recruited risk, our client offers a highly structured 6-month training and development programme.

Interested and suitably qualified candidates should forward a Word version of their CV and a brief covering letter to Mark Stracey at Mark Stracey Recruitment.  E mail mark.stracey@outlook.com
