Refining and Chemicals Insurance
Our client is a major player in the global insurance sector involved in the provision of cover to large scale oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, and chemicals facilities worldwide. The company operates out of 50 countries addressing high hazard sectors including oil and gas, power, chemicals, marine, mass transport, metals, mining and so on.
This is a challenging and exciting role for a significantly experienced chemical engineer with extensive exposure to and understanding of refinery and/or petrochemical operations, ideally acquired within a major energy/chemicals production company.
Candidates should offer experience of either long term business planning (LP modelling, refinery economics, strategic analysis) or short-term operational planning (production scheduling, turnarounds, work arounds etc). Insight into the consequential production/business implications of unit downtime and interdependency would be especially welcome. Our client is currently not looking for dedicated safety or process design engineers for this role at present.
Supporting clients throughout the Middle East, the appointee will undertake site inspections and condition surveys, review operating procedures and integrity, evaluate unit interdependency, assess potentials for consequential loss/interruption, undertake desktop risk assessments and produce clear, high-quality reports for underwriters, clients, and brokers. Foreign language skills would be welcome. Significant travel within the EMEA region can be expected.
Interested and suitably qualified candidates should forward a Word version of their CV and a brief covering letter to Mark Stracey at Mark Stracey Recruitment.
Mark is the " go-to " recruiter for chemical engineers in the UK for the last 30 years, his employment included Managing Director of Recruitment Holdings and Group Manager of Thomas Telford Recruitment for 23 years.
